• 1901 Brighton Golf Club (BGC) originated.
  • 1935 Brighton City Council built the Brighton Public Golf Course (BPGC) at the Dendy Street site and maintained the course to 2002.
  • 1952 BGC members banded together and purchased the property and dwelling at 99 Glencairn Ave East Brighton and converted it into the clubhouse.
  • The members later purchased the adjoining property for a carpark.
  • The BGC is the largest club playing at the BPGC and has preferred tee times Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Brighton Public Golf Course

  • BPGC is one of the most popular sandbelt courses. It has been leased to Bluefit for operation and maintenance.
  • 2017 Bayside Council completed a $2.9m storm water capture project which diverts approx 86 megalitres annually of naturally teated storm water to be used as irrigation. This redevelopment began the start of a new era for the course which supplies sufficient water to maintain the playing surface to a higher standard.

The Clubhouse

  • The Clubhouse is licensed with tables and lounge area where you can enjoy refreshments and snacks after play.
  • Large TV and leaderboard displaying daily competition results instantly.
  • Change room facilities with showers and lockers.
  • Available for functions
  • Leafy courtyard with full BBQ facilities.
  • Renovations are currently under review.

  • Wednesdays and Saturdays
  • Regular events and oportunity to play on other courses representing BGC.
